Epic Adventure, Full Campaign
The End of Everything is a campaign and setting book that takes characters from 1st through 12th level. The book features entirely new material and information regarding the fascinating Haunted Steppes region of The Lost Lands, including revised and more detailed regional maps; several new town and village maps and accompanying setting lore; many new and expanded monsters; the Gnoll, a new playable race; the Geomancer, a new arcane tradition; four new setting-specific character backgrounds; new magic items; new and simple mass combat rules (why would anyone need that? ????); and, of course, Corruption Value, a new game mechanic described below.
Investigative cosmic horror in D&D? So you thought that was impossible, eh? Well, read on!
The Haunted Steppes
Come explore the Haunted Steppes, far to the north in The Lost Lands, a stark and inhospitable land filled with dangerous creatures and unforgiving terrain. For millennia, the native and nomadic khans have struggled with and survived the difficult legacy of this troubled region. But now, something even more terrible is stirring. Whatever it is, this new horror is affecting time and reality itself!
Adversity Comes in Many Forms
In addition to being a challenging “What is really going on here?” exploration covering hundreds of miles of continent, cities, hamlets, and wilderness, the authors have introduced a brand-new but completely optional mechanic — Corruption Value — that quantifies the spiritual and physical toll experienced by the characters as they explore and try to survive this dangerous region.
