Heartless (PL 16/12 in mortal realms), is the infernal progeny of the Overlord of the Nine Hells: Asmodeus. Outcast by his powerful father and placed among the rabble of devilkind, Heartless swore to usurp Asmodeus and become Hell’s new master. Freed from the Nine Hells, along with the host of devils he brought with him, he now wanders the Earth in search of evil-doers to join him in his infernal crusade.
Heartless is constantly thwarted in his most grandiose plans by the supernatural Pale Rider: the living aspect of Death on the mortal realm. The Rider and his allies, the Night Watch, see Heartless as the current greatest threat to mortal lives.
